Google is going to remove app permissions list from play store: how will it impact on the users
Google Play Store contains a ‘Permissions’ section that all
the permissions needed by each apps. This important sections comes in useful
for privacy conscious users as it let them to check all the permissions needed
by a specific app without installing it on their devices. Google is now dropping
the app permissions section on the Play Store to highlight the newly introduced
“Data Safety” section.
The “Data Safety” section on Google Play Store was launched in April 2022 to give users more information about how apps use their data. However, this new section is taking a charge on some “crucial details from app listings”. Moreover, Google has also withdrawn the ‘Updated on’ section from Play Store listings for some users in March this year.

The Reason for Google’s Decision
The statement didn’t mention the actual reason for Google to
go ahead with such a change as the tech gadget is yet to release an official report
regarding this update. However, the report postulates that this change is
related to the new Play Store Data Safety section which is currently being
straighten to users.
How the New App Listings Look?
The report has been allocated two screenshots of the Play
Store listing of the Facebook app. These screenshots showing the difference
before and after the change came into result. According to the screenshots, the
‘Permissions’ list is no longer visible in the updated listing excepting users
from checking the permissions before installing the app.
The Data Safety Section
The Data Safety Section is the latest addition to the Play
Store app listing. It offers users information about how certain apps use their
data. According to the statement, the Permissions list is less important than
the Data Safety section because it doesn’t elaborate the required permissions.
However, users who have a clear conception of android app permissions can still
access the information by using the Aurora Store, or by inspecting the app’s
manifest, the statement mentions.
